Real Madrid XI vs Rayo Vallecano – Predicted lineup and team news

Real Madrid will be eager to get back on track when they face Rayo Vallecano in La Liga this Sunday.

Los Blancos will be determined to hold onto their lead at the top of the Primera Division after falling to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

Despite the setback in Europe, Madrid’s domestic form has been outstanding. The team has secured four league wins in a row, dispatching Villarreal, Getafe, Barcelona and Valencia.

Under the guidance of Xabi Alonso, Real aims to extend their domestic streak to five victories, having suffered just one league defeat so far — a 5-2 loss to Atlético Madrid on 28 September.

Real Madrid team news

Injuries continue to pose challenges for Real Madrid’s defensive setup. Dani Carvajal remains sidelined following knee surgery and is expected to be out until 2026. Meanwhile, Antonio Rüdiger is also unavailable as he recovers from a muscle injury sustained during the September internationals.

Midfield will also be impacted as Aurélien Tchouaméni faces a muscular injury that could keep him out until late November. Franco Mastantuono is similarly doubtful with a groin strain likely ruling him out of this clash.

On a brighter note, David Alaba has taken a significant step towards his return. The Austrian defender, absent for the last four matches due to a calf injury, participated extensively in Friday’s group training session and might travel to Vallecas, assuming he passes the final training test on Saturday.

Federico Valverde, who was withdrawn early against Liverpool amid injury concerns, has since been declared fit and is ready for selection. Trent Alexander-Arnold, who made a substitute appearance in that same fixture, might start on Sunday, potentially allowing Valverde a more advanced role.
