Real Madrid will aim to cut Barcelona’s lead at the top of La Liga when they visit Racing Santander on Sunday.
Mourinho’s men come into the game in outstanding shape, having won five matches in a row in all competitions. Their most recent result—a 2-1 win against Barcelona at Camp Nou—has revived their bid for the league title. Across that winning run, Madrid have scored 15 goals and recorded strong victories against RB Leipzig, Sevilla, Roma, and Villarreal, leaving them third in the standings.
Real Madrid team news
The trip to El Sardinero will see Madrid field a much-changed side after their El Clásico success. Mourinho has confirmed that captain Federico Valverde will not travel, as he is being rested to recover fully from a slight muscle problem.
There is good news, though, with Belgian keeper Thibaut Courtois available again after illness kept him out of the Barcelona match.
Vinícius Júnior remains unavailable, serving the third game of his four-match domestic ban.
Madrid’s squad is also stretched by several injuries: Rodrygo is still dealing with a knee problem, defender Raúl Asencio has a leg issue, and left-back Ferland Mendy is completely ruled out of Sunday’s important league clash.
Real Madrid predicted lineup
Possible Real Madrid starting XI: Courtois; Dumfries, Konate, Huijsen, Cucurella; Valverde, Tchouameni; Guler, Bellingham, Diomande; Mbappe
When will the match kick off?
The match will kick off at 3:15pm BST on Sunday, 1st November.
