Real Madrid host Barcelona this weekend in an absolutely massive clash in the Liga F title race.
Las Blancas have to win the Women’s Clasico to retain any hope of winning the league this season as they lie seven points adrift of their rivals at the top of the table with eight games remaining.
That’s a tall order, to say the least. Barça have only lost one top-flight game all season and boast a gigantic +81 goal difference.
Although Real have played impressively well this term, losing just twice in the league, they have never beaten the Catalan outfit in 18 attempts. They’ve scored just seven goals and conceded 66 in those encounters.
Interestingly, Barcelona have been awarded the most penalties (6) of any team this season, while Real have conceded the most (5).

Real Madrid Feminino come into this weekend’s derby in confident spirits after beating Arsenal in the Uefa Women’s Champions League. Goals from Linda Caicedo and substitute Athenea del Castillo gave Madrid a 2-0 quarter-final first-leg win over the WSL side.
However, they did drop points in Liga F for only the fourth time this season when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Deportivo La Coruna last Saturday.
That disappointment was preceded by a pair of defeats to Barcelona in the Copa de la Reina, losing 8-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals. They did beat Sevilla 4-0 in the league in between the two legs.

Barcelona Femini have been typically unstoppable of late. Their convincing victories over Real earlier this month came either side of a 4-1 win against strugglers Valencia, followed by a 2-0 win over UD Tenerife.
They also have one foot in the last four of the Champions League after beating Wolfsburg 4-1 in the first leg of their quarter-final matchup.

Las Blancas will be without three of their first-team players for the visit of Barcelona. Teresa Abelleira is out for the season with a cruciate ligament injury. Alberto Toril sustained a further injury setback in midweek, while Melanie Leupolz has torn a ligament.

Barça continued their utter dominance over Real with a 3-1 win a week and a half ago to ensure their progress to the cup final. The result was academic following their 5-0 win in the first leg.
Patricia Guijarro capitalised on the visitor’s slack defending to open the scoring with a shot that went in off the far post. Top goalscorer Ewa Pajor found the net just two minutes after the interval, nicking the ball off the defender before running through on goal. She popped up at the back post to head home her second of the night.
Signe Bruun slid in from close range to grab a consolation goal in stoppage time.
