Real Madrid are keen on signing Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies next summer.
Los Blancos see the 22-year-old as a perfect candidate for the left-back position according to Sport Bild, as full-back Ferland Mendy has struggled with fitness issues during his time at the club.
The Canadian international’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2025 and the Spanish giants will hope to pick up Davies for around £35m. However, reports suggest the German champions will not be looking to sell the speedster for less than £44m.
The two-time Canadian footballer of the year has been a mainstay in Thomas Tuchel’s side this campaign, providing three assists in 11 league games from left-back, with Bayern boasting the league’s second-best defence.
Davies has won every trophy on offer in Germany, with five Bundesliga titles, two DFB Pokals, and a Champions League since a £12m move from Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019. A number of Premier League clubs are understood to have snubbed the chance to sign Davies before his move to Munich.
Davies is no stranger to terrorising Spanish defences, as he put himself on the map with a devastating display against Barcelona in Bayern’s famous 8-2 win over the Blaugrana in 2020.
The World Cup star is the most valuable left-back on the planet according to Transfermarkt and with the success of Jude Bellingham in the Spanish capital, Davies could be Madrid’s next Bundesliga Galactico.
