Real Madrid have not made any contact with Antonio Conte about becoming their next manager according to the Italian’s brother.
Having lifted their third European Cup on the bounce just a few months ago, Real Madrid have had a pretty poor start to the season, sitting in 7th place in La Liga, as well as suffering a shock 1-0 defeat to CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.
That poor form has left many speculating that Real Madrid supremo Florentino Perez is on the verge of sacking recently appointed manager Julen Lopetegui, and as we reported a few days ago, a number of Premier League managers both past and present are in the frame to replace the former Spain boss.
The prime candidate for the role is former Chelsea and Juventus boss Antonio Conte, with rumours surfacing in the last day or so that Los Blancos have made contact with the Italian about making him their next manager.
However, that report has been denied by Conte’s brother Daniele Conte, who has said that his sibling has not received any phone calls from the Spanish giants.
“Antonio is on holiday at the moment,” he told Cadena Ser.
“He hasn’t received any phone call from Real. We can definitely say it’s a great club, but for now there’s been no contact.”
