Real Madrid give an update on rumoured Gareth Bale transfer

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has said that he does not plan on selling Gareth Bale this summer.

Bale has been linked with making a big money move to Manchester United this summer as the European champions target Monaco wonderkid Kylian Mbappe.

However Perez has publicly indicated that he does not want to sell the Welshman.

“Bale? I don’t plan on selling him.

“He’s a Madrid player, he’s important for us and he’s one of the world’s best.”

However, according to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, Perez has privately indicated to Manchester United that they would be prepared to listen to offers for the 28-year-old.

However, he is reportedly willing to drive a hard bargain by demanding a fee of £180m, over twice the fee Los Blancos paid Tottenham in 2013.

Jose Mourinho has publicly announced that he is willing to ‘fight’ any potential suitors to Bale’s signature, should he be made available by the Spanish champions. Bale was involved in Real Madrid’s UEFA Super Cup victory over Manchester United on Tuesday night.
