Real Madrid dig their heels in over €90m rated Alvaro Morata

Real Madrid are frustrating Manchester United’s attempts to sign Alvaro Morata.

According to The Independent, the Spanish and European Champions are refusing to budge on their €90m (£79m) valuation for the Spanish international, something which is frustrating Manchester United and their manager Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho charged club Chief Executive Ed Woodward with the task of bringing in all of his transfer targets this summer before the club jet out to Los Angeles on Sunday to start their pre-season preparations. However despite the season ending one-and-a-half months ago, the only new face at the check-in desks at Manchester Airport this weekend will so far be Swedish defender Victor Lindelof.

It is believed that Morata has set his heart on a move to Old Trafford, and even cut short his honeymoon to try broker a deal. His agent as well as his father have also been spotted at the Bernabeu within the last week, as all parties try to persuade the Real Madrid hierarchy to softening their stance.

However reports in Spain suggest that a deal could still be completed in time to catch the flight to the USA with Manchester United. The two clubs meet in a pre-season friendly in Santa Clara on 23rd July, before playing again on the 8th August in the European Super Cup in Macedonia
