After his sensational season in both the Premier League and in Europe this year, everyone is talking about Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian King has banged in 32 goals in the league this season, and a further 10 in Europe, helping fire Liverpool to tonight’s Champions League final in Kiev.
His form has seen some fans and pundits speculate whether the Reds number 11 should be spoken about in the same breath as the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the running for the Ballon d’Or. However speaking ahead of the final, Real Madrdid captain Sergio Ramos says it is far too early to be talking in those kind of terms:
“Comparing players with Ronaldo and Messi is something you can’t do, they’re in another orbit,” Ramos said.
“There are players who are in fashion, those who appear briefly and disappear and others who stay around. Salah is a top player, that’s clear.
“He’s shown that this year and he’s got a great chance to show that over the next few years as Ronaldo and Messi have done, but the day after tomorrow!”
