Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is set to reject a potential move to Liverpool as he prefers to join Manchester United, according to reports in Spain anyway.
The winger is one of the best British players to have ever played abroad, and despite once being the most expensive player in the world, his time at Real Madrid has been a difficult one.
The Welshman has endured a long list of injuries as well as spells of less than impressive form, something which has seen Real Madrid fans get on his back.
Despite having being linked with a return to the Premier League in almost every transfer window for the last few years, it seems as though Bale’s time in Spain could finally be coming to an end.
Real Madrid were willing to offer Bale to the Merseyside club as a make weight for Mohamed Salah, who has scored an impressive 29 goals in 33 league games, and 38 goals overall in what has been a sensational season.
However, according to Spanish publication Don Balon, he is ready to turn down the chance to move to Anfield.
It is thought that the 28-year-old prefers to move to Manchester United, a team that have courted him ever since his days playing for Tottenham.
Jose Mourinho is a big fan on the Welshman, and publicly courted the winger last summer when United played Real Madrid in a pre-season friendly in the USA.
