Marcus Rashford has returned to Manchester United training at Carrington today with an increasing possibility that he remains at Old Trafford this summer.
Rashford has returned to Manchester United after a season-long loan spell at Barcelona, where he scored 14 goals across all competitions.
The 28-year-old has not featured for the Red Devils since December 2024, having been frozen out under former manager Ruben Amorim. He joined Aston Villa on loan in 2024/25 before another temporary stint in Spain.
Following Barcelona’s decision to not sign Rashford permanently, his future has been up in the air. Despite approaches from Turkey and the Saudi Pro League, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Rashford has no intention of joining a club outside Europe’s major leagues.
His wages are problematic for interested sides, with a 25% increase following Manchester United’s Champions League qualification taking his salary to around £300,000-a-week.
As a result of the lack of credible suitors, Manchester United have ‘opened doors’ to the prospect of Rashford remaining with Michael Carrick content to keep the winger.
