Claudio Ranieri was in good spirits today despite his Fulham team’s 2-1 defeat at Burnley in the Premier League.
Fulham’s Andre Schurrle had opened the scoring as early as the second minute before two own-goals from The Cottagers handed the victory to Burnley.
Ranieri did not let the result spoil his mood, however. The former Chelsea and Leicester City boss felt his team deserved something from the game. Ranieri also insisted his team will continue to battle on in their quest for Premier League survival.
“Football is fantastic. We deserved more but that’s football.’’ Ranieri told Sky Sports.
“They had three chances and scored two own goals. We are alive, we never give up and we continue to fight.
“I am satisfied with our performance. We knew it would be a battle, they won so they are right and we are wrong.”
Fulham remain in 19th position and will need to start picking points up very soon to have any hope of keeping their Premier League status at the end of the season.
Ranieri’s side are at home to Spurs on Sunday week in a what will be a vital London derby for the club.
