Rangers will take on Aberdeen in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final on Saturday evening at Ibrox Stadium, hoping to stretch their unbeaten streak to 11 matches.

The Gers are in strong domestic shape, currently second in the Premiership and without defeat in their previous four league games. After thrashing St. Johnstone 4-0, they earned a hard-fought 2-2 draw at Hearts in midweek. Their attack has been particularly sharp, netting nine times over those four matches, giving them plenty of confidence going into this important cup clash.

Rangers team news

Rangers have several important players unavailable for the semi-final. Manager Derek McInnes is waiting on a late fitness assessment for midfielder Tochi Chukwuani, who had a knee scan after feeling discomfort during the Hearts game.

The squad is also missing Lawrence Shankland through a torn thigh muscle, Cammy Devlin because of a hamstring injury, and Daisuke Yokota, who is recovering from groin surgery.

Ross McCrorie and Youssef Chermiti are likewise ruled out. Even so, Dan Neil is expected to lead the team as captain, partnering Nicolas Raskin in midfield.

Kevin Kelsy will be the main danger in attack, having scored five goals in his previous six matches. In defence, McInnes must decide between Emmanuel Fernandez and the more experienced Ben Godfrey.
