Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has admitted he unsure about his future with the Gunners after there has been little progress regarding a new contract.
The Welshman has just one year remaining on his deal at Arsenal, and while his representatives have been in discussions regarding an extended deal, the former Cardiff City midfielder has yet to reach an agreement on extending his current contract.
He has played his entire Gunners career under the stewardship of Arsene Wenger, but with the Frenchman having finally hung up his long overcoat at the Emirates, Ramsey has a new man to impress in the shape of Unai Emery.
It is thought that Emery is keen to utilise the 27-year-old heavily this season, although the player himself has admitted that he is unsure why his contract talks are taking so long:
“We’ll see what happens, but my agent and the club are talking,” he told Sky Sports News.
“I’m not sure exactly what it hinges on, I’m just leaving it to them to discuss and to figure it out but we are yet to come to an agreement.
“That’s something that my agent and the club are discussing to try and get something done.
Asked how long it would take to resolve, he added: “I’m not sure exactly. It’s taken a bit of time so far so we will have to wait and see.”
