Tony Pulis has lavished praise on his Middlesbrough players for their ‘wonderful’ start to the 2018/19 Championship season.
Boro are 3rd in the table through 19 fixtures, having won nine games. But, they face a tough test when they face Aston Villa this weekend.
Former Stoke City manager Pulis has praised his players ahead of the game against Villa, who are in 8th place in the table.
“I think it’s a great game, we’ve had a wonderful first half of the season, we’ve got Burton in the quarter-finals of the Cup at home, we’re a few points off the top of the table and the players deserve a lot of credit for what they’ve achieved at the football club.” Pulis told his Friday press conference.
Boro head into the game just two points behind Championship leaders Norwich City, and just one point behind title favourites Leeds United.
But, Pulis’s side have the league’s sternest defence and will head into Saturday’s late kick off at the Riverside full of confidence, hoping to end the day top of the table.
