Claude Puel says his Leicester City team deserved all three points after their 2-1 win over Manchester City in the Premier League today.
The Foxes came from behind to snatch a memorable victory against the current league champions and Puel was delighted with the win.
“A good Boxing Day! We know when you play Chelsea and City it’s difficult to have the ball but you must have this mentality to defend together and try to use good recovery and fast passes to break,’’ Puel told the BBC.
“We deserved this result. We had more chances than them. We changed the system to get a better balance in the team and it is a fantastic result for this team.”
Puel acknowledged the effort being made by his players over the Christmas period after Leicester made it two fantastic wins in a row, following up their 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge last Saturday with today’s remarkable victory.
“Some players are very tired. It was important to put the same team on the pitch. We didn’t play well against Crystal Palace but we have had two fantastic games.”
Leicester are home to Cardiff this Saturday and Puel’s side will be looking to close the four-point gap between themselves and Manchester United who are in 6th.
