Paris Saint-Germain are ready to open talks with Liverpool over the potential signing of midfielder Fabinho.
The French champions are in the market for a defence-minded midfielder and have identified the 25-year-old as their preferred target.
The Brazilian signed for Liverpool for £40m last summer, but having struggled for regular game-time in Jurgen Klopp’s side so far, PSG believe they can create an offer that will tempt the former Monaco player back to France.
The French champions have been in the market for a midfield enforcer following Thiago Motta’s retirement and L’Equipe are reporting they are ready to make their move for Fabinho.
The two clubs met one another in Paris in a crunch Champions League group-stage clash on Wednesday evening, with the report saying that the Parisians would use the meeting to discuss a potential transfer, although it remains to be seen whether Jurgen Klopp would part with the midfielder.
Fabinho spent five years in Ligue 1 with Monaco and was part of the side crowned French champions in 2017.
