Paris Saint-Germain are keen on a deal to sign Bernardo Silva from Manchester City as the club consider replacements for Lionel Messi.
Messi will leave PSG when his contract expires at the end of the season and Silva has emerged as a transfer target for the Ligue 1 champions as the club look to rebuild.
Le Parisien, as per Get Football News France, are reporting that PSG value Silva’s ability to operate in numerous midfield roles or further forward and believes the 28-year-old’s combination of work-rate and creativity can add a different dimension to the side next season.
Silva has expressed an interest in leaving Manchester City across the last two summer transfer windows and Barcelona have been linked with a move, but PSG boast the greater resources to sign a player valued in the region of €80m.
The Portugal international could reunite with Kylian Mbappe in the French capital after the two won the Ligue 1 title together at Monaco in 2016/17, while PSG boast a strong contingent of Portuguese players with international teammates Vitinha, Danilo Pereira, Nuno Mendes and Renato Sanches all part of the current squad.
Silva – who has expressed an interest in returning to Portugal later in his career – could be open to a return to French football after six successful seasons at the Etihad. The midfielder could win his fifth Premier League title if City beat Chelsea this weekend.
