RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner has admitted that he dreams of moving to Manchester United.
The Germany international has attracted the attentions of some of Europes biggest clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool following his goalscoring exploits for RB Leipzig.
Werner netted 21 goals in 31 appearances for Die Bullen last season, helping them to a surprise second placed finish in the Bundesliga. He also earned his first caps for Germany, where he has already scored six goals in 8 appearances for the World Champions.
However, he has now admitted that he dreams of moving to Manchester United, a team that he supported as a boy:
“As a young boy, you always dream of the big club you’d like to play for.
“It used to be Manchester United supporter under Alex Ferguson, who always won. A young boy is always a fan of those who win.
“You can’t just drop something like that. When it’s going well, you dream of playing somewhere else.”
The news could come as a blow to Liverpool who as mentioned earlier are interested in signing the German. Whether his boyhood allegiances to Manchester United would prevent him from moving to Anfield are yet to be seen.
