Premier League Transfer Rumour Mill: London giants scout Diomande

The Premier League’s biggest clubs are sending scouts to watch top talent at the Africa Cup of Nations, according to the latest gossip.

Here are the biggest Premier League transfer rumours from January 15.

Arsenal and Chelsea want to sign Sporting Lisbon centre-back Ousmane Diomande, according to reports from Portugal’s Record. The 20-year-old will be watched extensively as he competes for host nation Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations, with the London giants considering activating his €80m (£69m) release clause.

There’s also an all-London tussle in the race to sign Santiago Gimenez. The Eredivise can be a roll of the dice when it comes to signing strikers, but 19 goals in 17 games this season has sparked strong interest in the Feyenoord forward.

Football Insider claim that Tottenham, Arsenal and Fulham are ready to rival West Ham in the £30m battle to bring the Mexican to England’s capital.

West Ham also want Serhou Guirassy as the Hammers look to end their centre-forward curse, but face competition from Manchester United, Newcastle and AC Milan for the Bundesliga’s breakout star.

The Mirror say Liverpool are keen on Sunderland shot-stopper Anthony Patterson. Caoimhin Kelleher’s time as Alisson’s understudy looks set to be nearing an end with the Irishman keen on a regular role, and Patterson is being lined up for the number two position at Anfield.

There’s also interest from the Reds in Lille centre-back Leny Yoro, say AS. The 18-year-old has made 14 appearances in Ligue 1 this season and is set to spark a scramble between Europe’s elite in the summer. Real Madrid and PSG will provide considerable competition for his signature.

Finally, Karim Benzema’s future in the Saudi Pro League is uncertain. Marca have revealed that the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner has been excluded from Al-Ittihad’s winter training camp in Dubai after becoming disgruntled with life in the Middle East. A short-term striking option for some of the Premier League’s best, perhaps?
