Premier League Team of the Week – Matchweek 3

Where has that gone? After waiting all summer for the return of the Premier League, match week 3 is already now behind us, with some exciting games taking place this weekend.

Here are the star performers from the latest round of Premier League action…

Lukasz Fabianski – West Ham

Despite conceding three goals against Arsenal, the Polish ‘keeper made a string of impressive saves against his former club.

Trent Alexander-Arnold – Liverpool

An energetic display from the England youngster who was solid at the back and good going forward and could have grabbed a goal but saw his free-kick rattle off the bar.

Shane Duffy – Brighton

Followed on from his good performance against Manchester United last week with another solid performance. Repelled plenty of Liverpool attacks, making 11 clearances including one off the line.

Harry Maguire – Leicester City

Old Slab Head was strong at the back, making 10 clearances, before scoring an uncharacteristic long range goal to win the game at the death.

Luke Shaw – Manchester United

United may have suffered a heavy defeat, but Luke Shaw was the standout performer, providing a constant threat down the left.

Jorginho – Chelsea

Chelsea’s midfield metronome completed a record 158 passes in the heart of the midfield, more than the entire Newcastle team put together.

Lucas Moura – Tottenham

Two goals for the Brazilian as Spurs put Man Utd to the sword in the second half.

Andre Schurrle – Fulham

A constant threat, getting 12 shots off against a disappointing Burnley, scoring one.

Felipe Anderson – West Ham

A dynamic performance from the Brazilian, who caused Arsenal’s defence problems all game long, linking the midfield with the attack, and combining well with Marko Arnautovic.

Eden Hazard – Chelsea

Caused problems for a much criticised Newcastle side, opening the scoring from the spot in the second half.

Aleksandar Mitrovic – Fulham

Superb performance from the Serbian striker, scoring two goals for big spending Fulham, as they finally picked up their first points of the season.
