Premier League Team of the Week – Game Week 9

After a weekend of comfortable wins, resounding wins, shock results and even another managerial casualty, here are the best players from gameweek nine of the Premier League.

There was a distinctly London flavour to this weeks following the impressive performances by Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea at the weekend.

Tottenham trio of Hugo Lloris, Dele Alli and Harry Kane form part of the spine of the team of the week following their 4-1 humiliation of Liverpool on Sunday. Kane scored twice while Alli scored one for Pochettino’s men.

Chelsea also have three players in this weeks team of the week. David Luiz, Pedro and Eden Hazard. Hazard set up Pedro’s stunning opening goal, before Pedro’s assist for grabbed an assist of his own, as Michy Batshuayi got the equaliser.

Arsenal duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil helped to rip Everton apart. The contract rebels both grabbed a goal and an assist as the Gunners bagged a 5-2 victory at Goodison Park, a result which ultimately cost Ronald Koeman his job.

As for the shock result of the weekend, we couldn’t not mention Huddersfield’s amazing 2-1 win against a previously unbeaten Manchester United. It was all United pressure for the majority of the game, but Huddersfield held firm, helping right back Tommy Smith earn a place in the Team of the Week. However United’s left back Ashley Young was one of the best performers for the visitors, making the most amount of key passes in the game.

Meanwhile, a goal and a good defensive performance against Burnley was enough to help Manchester City’s Nicolas Otamendi into the final place in the back four.
