The Premier League teams with the most red cards so far in 2024/25

Arsenal are top of at least one Premier League table – but it’s not the one they want to be leading.

William Saliba was the third Gunner to receive his marching orders this season after Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard. The French defender was sent off for denying a goal scoring opportunity on Saturday when he took down Bournemouth striker as he was about to run in on goal.

That puts the north London outfit ahead of Southampton and Nottingham Forest, each of whom have had two red cards this term.

This weekend has remarkably seen five sendings off – and it’s only Saturday! Mohammed Kudus was the most notable after starting a fracas during Tottenham Hotspur‘s 4-1 win over West Ham United.

Nine Premier League clubs have now had at least one player sent off in 2024/25, including Manchester United, albeit in somewhat controversial circumstances.

Bruno Fernandes was sent for an early bath against Spurs in September after he slipped while challenging James Maddison before reaching his leg out and met the midfielder’s knee with his studs.

This was successfully appealed to the FA, who ruled it was a case of wrongful dismissal, and the Portuguese playmaker avoided a three-game suspension.

Here are all of the clubs who have received red cards in the first eight gameweeks of the season.
