Jonathan David is ‘one to watch’ in the summer transfer window with several clubs interested in signing the Lille forward.
David has scored 74 goals in 167 appearances for the French side and netted a hat-trick as Lille boosted their Champions League hopes with a 3-0 win over Le Havre this weekend.
The Canada international continues to be linked with an exit from the Stade Pierre-Mauroy and is reportedly on the radar of Premier League clubs ahead of the summer window.
The 24-year-old will enter the final 12 months of his deal with Lille at the end of the campaign and the Ligue 1 side could be forced to cash in on the forward.
Fabrizio Romano said in November that ‘three Premier League’ clubs were chasing a potential deal, and has now called David ‘one to watch’ in the summer window. Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Newcastle and West Ham are among those who have been claimed to be considering a move.
Brentford were last week linked with David as a potential replacement for Ivan Toney, who is expected to leave west London in the summer.
However, the Bees have since agreed a deal to sign Igor Thiago from Club Brugge for £30m. The Brazilian has scored 26 goals in 40 appearances for the Belgian side this season.
