Our Premier League Awards celebrate the best – and worst – of the weekend’s action, featuring Liverpool’s title celebrations and a fantastic first Brighton goal.
Moment of the Week
The moment Liverpool fans have waited 35 years to enjoy. Liverpool’s 2019/20 title success under Jurgen Klopp got a 30-year monkey off the back for the Reds, but the absence of fans was felt.
Five years on, Liverpool are champions again and Kopites all over are celebrating a record-equalling 20th league title. After four seasons of Manchester City dominance, Liverpool have dethroned the Citizens in style. Arne Slot’s side have exceeded all expectations to be crowned champions, in what was expected to be a season of transition post-Klopp.
The scenes inside – and outside – of Anfield were something to savour, a Merseyside party that has been long in the making. Congratulations to Liverpool, champions of England again.

Player of the Week
If, as expected, Matheus Cunha moves on this summer, Wolves will certainly miss him. The Brazilian has been one of the Premier League’s outstanding players this season in a side that has struggled for the bulk of the campaign.
Cunha was a class above as Wolves eased past Leicester to earn their sixth straight Premier League win, with optimism on the up under Vitor Pereira.
Most goals scored by Brazilian players in a single Premier League campaign:
โ 15 – Roberto Firmino (2017/18)
โ 15 – Gabriel Martinelli (2022/23)
โ 15 – Matheus Cunha (2024/25) ๐One more for a new record. ๐ pic.twitter.com/4uxG3Rn2Km
โ Squawka (@Squawka) April 26, 2025
He opened the scoring with his 15th league goal of the campaign, before setting up Jorgen Strand Larsen and Rodrigo Gomes to complete the rout. He’s been directly involved in 21 goals this season in just 26 starts, while no Brazilian, ever, has scored more goals in a single Premier League season. Given the quality of Cunha’s compatriots to have played in England, that’s a remarkable feat.
Goal of the Week
There aren’t many better ways to score your first goal for a club than this.
Take a bow, Yasin Ayari.

Save of the Week
Robert Sanchez has certainly had his critics at Chelsea this season but the Spaniard showed up against Everton this weekend.
A narrow 1-0 win saw Chelsea climb back into the Champions League places, but the Blues were reliant on a stunning stop from Sanchez. This could be a huge moment in the club’s season.
“WHAT A SAVE!” ๐ณ
This stop from Robert Sรกnchez could be a match-winning moment ๐

Stat of the Week
Arne Slot has joined an exclusive club.
He’s also the first Dutch coach to win the Premier League.
5 – Arne Slot is the fifth manager to win the Premier League in his first season, after Josรฉ Mourinho (2004-05), Carlo Ancelotti (2009-10), Manuel Pellegrini (2013-14) and Antonio Conte (2016-17). Select. pic.twitter.com/l1oAufMAEa

A week to forget forโฆ
Graham Potter. The 49-year-old watched his West Ham side implode to lose at former club Brighton this weekend. It continues a nightmare start for Potter in East London, whose side are yet to show any sign of improvement. In truth, they’ve gone backwards under his management.
Fewest Premier League points earned since Graham Potter was named West Ham boss:

โ 5 – Ipswich
