Potter a target with Moyes ‘increasingly likely’ to leave West Ham

Graham Potter is reportedly admired by those at West Ham, with David Moyes ‘increasingly likely’ to leave the club.

Having qualified for Europe in each of the last two seasons, West Ham have endured a season of struggle this time around, currently sitting 15th in the Premier League and just four points above the relegation zone.

The Hammers have managed to pick up eight potentially vital points from their last five league matches as they look to fend off a third Premier League relegation.

David Moyes’ position at the club has come into question over the course of the campaign and, according to the Mail, the former Manchester United and Everton boss is ‘increasingly likely’ to leave his role at the end of the season regardless of whether the Hammers beat the drop.

The report states that the ‘task of considering contenders to replace Moyes has begun’, while ‘intermediaries of potential summer signings are also expecting a change in the head coach position.’

One of those understood to be admired by the East London outfit is Graham Potter, with the 47-year-old out of work following his sacking by Chelsea earlier this month.

The former Brighton boss was relieved of his duties after he won just seven of his 22 league games in charge at Stamford Bridge, though still has plenty of credit in the bank following the work he did on the South Coast.

The report does however say that there are ‘doubts’ as to whether the Solihull-born boss would be interested in taking on the role at the London Stadium.

It adds that the Hammers ‘have been alerted to the work of Reims boss Will Still’, while they have also been ‘impressed’ by Lille’s Paulo Fonseca.

Brendan Rodgers has also been linked following his departure from Leicester City, though the Mail say that ‘a deal for him to join West Ham would be difficult to conclude’.
