Positive reports emerge after Luke Shaw horror injury against Spain

England slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Spain tonight at Wembley in the UEFA Nations League, although much of the attention during and after the game focused on a horrific head injury suffered by Three Lions left-back Luke Shaw during the second-half.

Manchester United defender Shaw was worryingly stretchered off after he lay prone on the turf after seemingly being knocked unconscious after a collision with Spain right-back Daniย Carvajal.

Thankfully however, reports have now emerged suggesting that the injury may not be as bad as was first thought, with the 23-year-old now being treated by Doctors at Wembley instead of having to visit the hospital, much to the relief of everybody involved.

The night had started in excellent fashion for the former Southampton man when he laid on a beautifully weighted assist for his Man United teammate Marcus Rashford to slot home and put England into an early lead.

However, Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul struck back almost immediately, before Valencia attacker Rodrigo tapped home from a free kick to send La Roja in at half-time in the ascendancy.

Despite England pushing hard for an equaliser late on, Luis Enriqueโ€™s side held on to seal the first win of the former Barcelona coachโ€™s reign as Spain manager.
