He may have endured a difficult season at Manchester United, but Paul Pogba has been tipped to win the Ballon d’Or by a player who knows what it takes to win it, Ronaldinho.
The Brazilian legend won the prestigious honour back in 2005, as well as the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2005 and 2006 after some sensational performances for Barcelona.
Now, speaking to French TV channel Canal+, he has tipped the Manchester United midfielder to follow in his footsteps by becoming the worlds best player:
“He can win the Ballon d’Or, without a doubt.
“I see Pogba as a friend, I don’t see myself as his idol.
“He is young, talented and he has the ability to play anywhere, he can play in a free role, defensive, as a runner or attacking.
“He has the characteristics of a player who can fill any position, he can make history.”
Ronaldinho of course is famous for his time at Barcelona, but also spent time at fellow European heavyweights PSG and AC Milan. Before joining Barcelona, he was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, and has recently revealed how close he came to making the move to Old Trafford.
