Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba believes the current France squad has the potential to win this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
Les Blues coach Didier Deschamps certainly has a frightening array of talent to choose from – particularly in attack where he can call upon the likes of Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann, Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele, Man United’s Anthony Martial and PSG wonderkid Klyian Mbappe.
France’s sqaud will also contain a strong Premier League presence in defence and midfield; with Spurs Hugo Lloris, Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny, and Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante all expected to play prominent roles for their country this summer.
United’s record signing Pogba reckons he and his international team-mates have a great chance of winning football’s biggest prize in Russia, although he also called on fans to not expect Les Blues to simply romp to comfortable victories in every game they play.
“We have the potential, the players to win the World Cup,”
“We have a great team.
“There is still work to be done because against lesser teams, we have had more trouble.
“Just because we are the French national team does not mean that we will win every game 5-0.” Pogba told Telefoot.
