Paul Pogba is a man who seemingly divides opinion with his every movement, but his agent Mino Raiola believes that he has nothing to prove to anyone, and he is a ‘perfect ambassador’.
Moving back to Manchester United from Juventus back in 2016 for a world record fee of £89 million, Pogba’s every move both on and off the field has been scrutinised ever since.
Whether it be his amazing or indeed abject performances on the field, or his outlandish clothes, hairstyles and social media activity off of it, the Frenchman never seems far from the limelight.
As with all football transfers, the bigger the price, the bigger the expectation, and when you become the world’s most expensive footballer, you are certainly judged differently to those around you.
Pogba has had his fair share of both amazing and abject performances since his return to Old Trafford two years ago, and despite scoring six goals and providing 10 assists in the Premier League last season, fans and pundits still want and expect more from the midfielder.
However, one man who believes that Pogba has nothing to prove is his agent, Mino Raiola:
“Everyone wants to criticise him. He is a boy who always stays positive, who works hard. He has nothing to prove.
“He must do his best, help his team. He has to do what the coach wants. On the field, but also off it, because he’s a perfect ambassador.”
Pogba is currently in Russia for the 2018 World Cup, where he has already opened his goalscoring account with the winner in France’s 2-1 against Australia.
