Paul Pogba has said that David de Gea is potentially the best goalkeeper in the world following last weekends heroics against Spurs.
De Gea has long been regarded as the best goalkeeper in the Premier League, and has been named in the PFA Team of the Year in each of the last four seasons.
The goalkeeper came in for some criticism in the summer, putting in some substandard displays for Spain in the World Cup, before having a less than impressive start to the current season.
However, he was back in fine fettle between the sticks at Wembley last Saturday, making an impressive 11 second-half saves to help Manchester United to their fourth successive clean sheet in the 1-0 win over Spurs.
With United going for a seventh consecutive win against Brighton this weekend, Paul Pogba has said that the Red Devils number 1 is quite possibly the best in the world, and is better than his former Juventus teammate, Gianluigi Buffon.
“He is obviously one of the best, if not the best, goalkeepers in the world and when we need him he is there. That is what makes him the best,” Pogba told Sky Sports.
“Sorry Gigi (Buffon) but even Gigi would maybe say that.”
