Spurs’ long wait for their new home is edging closer and closer to a happy ending.
The club hopes to be playing its home games at their new ground in early 2018. They currently play all their home fixtures at Wembley after delays to the redevelopment of White Hart Lane.
Today, Spurs announced that there will be a fan familiarisation event where up to 6,000 season-ticket holders will be invited to visit the south stand of their new stadium in mid-December.
Mauricio Pochettino was asked for his thoughts on the idea of this event.
“It makes me feel very, very happy,” Pochettino told his Friday press conference.
“It makes me feel we are close to competing there. It’s an important thing for the fans to show our new home and it makes me very, very happy.”
The new arena is yet to be officially named and will have a capacity of over 62,000.
Most importantly for Spurs’ fans will be the question of whether they can hold onto personnel such as Pochettino, Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen for some time after the move.
