Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is unsure whether his side will make any signings this summer.
Spurs are one of the only sides in the Premier League yet to make a single signing this summer, and they are quickly running out of time to do so, with just nine days remaining until the transfer window closes.
Tottenham get their Premier League campaign underway against Newcastle United on August 11, but could have to do so with a heavily depleted squad, with eight of their first team making the final weekend at the World Cup just over two weeks ago, and Heung Min Son being called up for this month’s Asian games.
Despite that, Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t ruled out the possibility of not signing any players before next Thursday’s transfer deadline:
“I don’t know if we are going to sign or not. We’re working on that. I cannot tell you if we’re going to sign one, zero or two or three or four,” Pochettino told journalists ahead of Spurs latest pre-season friendly.
“We’re working. It’s true that it’s so close, the transfer window is so close, but the club’s doing everything to help the team and add some players, more quality, and try to help us in the season to achieve what we want.
