Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino gave an injury update on some of his players today ahead of Manchester United’s visit to Wembley on Sunday.

Pochettino spoke about midfielder Mousa Dembele’s injury status as well as that of defender Jan Vertonghen.

“I don’t believe Mousa, still not match fit. He’s training with the group, but not match fit,” Pochettino told his pre-match press conference.

“Vertonghen I need to assess because we have plenty of centre-backs. He’s in the same position as Mousa. We’ll see if we have a space in the starting XI, bench or not.”

Victor Wanyama is Pochettino’s only long-term injury concern at the moment. The former Southampton midfielder has been carrying a knee injury since November.

Eric Dier (appendicitis) and Lucas Moura face late fitness tests before Sunday’s match.

In Vertonghen’s potential absence in defence, Pochettino will most likely field the pairing of Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld in the centre.
