Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has hailed his side’s fantastic attitude as they overcame Premier League strugglers Huddersfield this afternoon.
It has been a tough few weeks for Tottenham, suffering three consecutive defeats to the hands of Watford, Liverpool and Inter Milan, before getting back on track with wins over Brighton in the league and Watford in the Carabao Cup over the last week.
They followed that up with a 2-0 win over the Terriers in the West Yorkshire sunshine this afternoon, leaving Pochettino to praise his side’s attitude.
“Very good win, very pleased. The attitude was fantastic. It was a tough game against a team desperate to win. They were helped by their unbelievable fans, among the best I have found in England. Which is why we are so pleased to have three more points in the table today,” Pochettino told the BBC.
“We are in the Premier League, it is tough, physical. Teams like Huddersfield are difficult to play. I think it is a normal the actions that happened today.
“I think the game was difficult from the beginning. We knew coming here they were an aggressive team, desperate to win as they haven’t started so well. They have very good players, with the atmosphere and the manager they will bounce back.
“Today after 45 minutes made a few changes. We need to assess in the next few days but football is about the squad. Today it was fantastic to see Erik [Lamela] and Victor [Wanyama], playing 45 minutes and giving their best. It is important all the players feel that they are important.”
