Mauricio Pochettino says he has been pleased with the performances levels of his Chelsea side despite their mixed start to the season.
Chelsea are 12th in the Premier League table after just one win from their opening four games, having headed into the international break after a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.
Pochettino believes his side’s points return is not reflective of their performances to date and believes Chelsea will turn results around when his side develop a more clinical touch around goal.
“The team performance was good in the first months [of the season] but we didn’t get the points,” Pochettino said at a press conference ahead of facing Bournemouth this weekend.
“We just need time to work together, so many players arrived at the last moment, but the players believe in the way we want to play.
“What we are missing is scoring goals – the most important thing in football – but this will arrive. We want to be more competitive and we can’t concede easy goals. We can’t be weak in these situations.”
