Mauricio Pochettino refused to rule out a challenge for the Premier League title following their 1-0 win over Newcastle United yesterday.
Spurs’ defeat to Manchester United, coupled with the injuries to Harry Kane and Dele Alli had left some onlookers to question whether the North London club would slide out of the top four.
However, with Son Heung-Min making a very timely return from the Asian Cup, they have in fact solidified their grip on the Champions League qualification places, with the South Korean scoring late goals against Watford and Newcastle to help move Spurs to within four points of league leaders Liverpool, who don’t play until Monday.
Speaking to Sky Sports about a potential title challenge, Mauricio Pochettino said: “In football, all is possible. Everything can happen.
“The most important thing is to be ready for next Sunday against Leicester.”
Next up for Spurs is a home fixture against Leicester City.
