Pochettino happy to come away from ‘difficult’ London Stadium with three points

Mauricio Pochettino was happy to get the job done at West Ham, today.

Pochettino’s Spurs side won 1-0 at West Ham, but were massively thankful to a great performance from Hugo Lloris for holding on for the win.

“In the first half, we played very well and we deserved to score two or more goals,’’ he told the BBC.

“Hugo Lloris is one of the best goalkeepers in the world.”

Pochettino pointed out just how good a result it was for Spurs having seen West Ham take points off of Chelsea and Manchester United already, this season.

“Manuel Pellegrini is doing a fantastic job and if you get result against Chelsea or Manchester United and to get the points in this stadium is very difficult to do, but we want to be competitive and in a good position in the table.” He added.

Spurs are now level on points with Chelsea and have made their best ever start to a Premier League campaign. They are doing what many consider to be the secret to league success – not playing great but still taking the three points. If they can continue that until their ‘form’ returns then Pochettino will be a happy man.
