Mauricio Pochettino praised his Spurs players for their mentality in the come-from-behind win over Premier League rivals Watford.
Tottenham went behind thanks to a Craig Cathcart goal in the first half, but produced a stirring comeback in the final ten minutes with goals from the returning Son Heung-Min and Fernando Llorente to secure a vital three points.
The Argentine manager said it was ‘nice to smile’ after a testing week in which the North London side bowed out of both cup competitions.
“I think we fully deserved the victory,” Pochettino told BBC Sport.
“It arrived late but we kept pushing. It was a fantastic second-half performance. The first half, it was difficult to create chances – we dominated but didn’t create.
“It’s fantastic to win again after a difficult week… it’s nice to smile. The mentality is perfect.”
Spurs remain third in the Premier League table, seven points behind leaders Liverpool and another seven ahead of local rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.
