‘Play me or I leave’ – Arsenal star’s ultimatum to Arsene Wenger

Arsenal star Jack Wilshere has demanded that he be played more or he will leave the club according to reports today.

Wilshere spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, where he made 27 appearances, the highest number since 2013/14. However his season was cut short after suffering a fractured leg. He has since returned to Arsenal, but has hardly featured this season.

The England international has made just two Premier League appearances this season, with a further seven appearances in the Europa League and EFL Cup.

His ninth appearance of the season came on Thursday night in Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat to FC Koln in the Europa League, and speaking after the game, Wilshere aired his frustrations at his lack of game time.

“Of course I want to be playing. It’s difficult when you play every three weeks.

“It’s the same as every player. I’m still determined to win my place back, I’m working hard and we’ll see what the future holds.

“If I can get in or I can’t”

It is thought that he has privately told Arsene Wenger that if his time in the pitch does not improve, that he will be forced to leave the club.

Wilshere has just seven months remaining on his contract at the club, and is free to talk to other clubs from January onwards. Real Betis have been linked with having an interest in the 25-year-old – while the likes of West Ham and Everton have also been linked in the past few months.
