Italy legend Andrea Pirlo has backed a potential move by Juventus for Arsenal midfielder, Aaron Ramsey.
Ramsey has been told that he is free to leave Arsenal in the summer after the club rescinded its offer of a new contract, with his current deal having just six months left to run.
The Wales international has been linked with a number of big clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Juventus, but former Italy midfield legend Pirlo has backed a moved by his former club, Juve.
“Ramsey is a great purchase,” Pirlo told Sky Sports Italia.
“Juventus are preparing another excellent deal. He is a strong player and could do very well.”
Despite being told that he can leave, Ramsey has still been a key player for the Gunners, making 16 Premier League appearances this season, and he has laid on six assists and scored one goal.
He came on as a 62nd minute substitute in Arsenal’s last outing against Brighton on Boxing Day, a game which ended 1-1 to leave them two points adrift of Chelsea in fourth.
