While the World eagerly awaits the World Cup final, Premier League teams are already preparing for the 2018/19 season, and Manchester United are the latest to start their pre-season preparations.
Manchester United had a decent season last time out, maintaining second place in the league for almost the entirety of the season, their best season performance in terms of both points and league position since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Despite the relative success, it was a rare season for Jose Mourinho, finishing without a trophy, and so far behind eventual champions and local rivals Man City, who broke almost every single Premier League record under Pep Guardiola.
Mourinho has already made three moves in the transfer window as he looks to strengthen his squad, with Brazil midfielder Fred the most high profile name to arrive, alongside Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant.
There is expected to be plenty of of departures from Old Trafford this summer, but as of yet, there have been none, meaning all of the players who haven’t been in action at the World Cup have now returned to prepare for the up coming season.
While Manchester United has plenty of players who jetted to Russia, there are still plenty of big names who did not, including Alexis Sanchez, Eric Bailly, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and Anthony Martial
Manchester United jet off to the USA on Sunday for their annual pre-season tour, which kicks off against Club America on Friday 20 July.
