With the Spanish transfer window open until 11pm (BST) tonight, Philippe Coutinho could still complete a move to Barcelona before the end of the day. Here is the latest on the Brazilians future.
Rejected Bids
Barcelona have been interested in signing Coutinho for a number of months, but since the departure of Neymar to PSG, they have intensified their interest.
The Catalans have made a series of three of bids for Coutinho, with the highest believed to be worth a staggering £138m.
However, these bids have all been rejected by Liverpool, who have maintained that Coutinho is not for sale at any price, a stance taken by several of the Premier Leagues biggest teams this summer.
Despite the rejected bids, Barcelona have remained confident in their search for his signature, until now.
According to Spanish publication Sport, Barcelona have now admitted defeat for now and accept that Coutinho will not be moving to the Nou Camp before tonight’s Spanish deadline.
Barcelona have of course signed Ousmane Dembele, and are also interested in Angel Di Maria and reportedly, Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez.
