Newcastle striker Ayoze Perez has said that Wolves did not deserve to triumph at St James Park this afternoon.
Wolves took an early first-half lead through Diogo Jota, although Perez pulled the Newcastle level after 23 minutes in what was an even game.
However, Wolves wing-back Matt Doherty would ensure all three points headed back to Molyneux with a last-gasp winner in the 93rd minute, and speaking after the game, Perez didn’t think that Wolves deserved the victory.
“They don’t deserve that win,” Perez told Sky Sports.
“We wanted to go forward and we wanted to get the win. We struggled against West Ham but today we improved a lot.
“We did not deserve to lose, it was a good performance but it wasn’t enough. Little things make the difference and today those went against us.”
The result moves Wolves up to 10th, but leaves Newcastle down in 15th, three points above the drop zone.
