Manchester City have made some fantastic signings so far under Guardiola, with the Spaniard sanctioning moves for Leroy Sane and Ilkay Gundogan. It’s clear his work isn’t done though, and he clearly isn’t convinced by current City #1, Joe Hart.

That has led to several reports suggesting that a goalkeeper arrival could happen before the window slams shut in September. Today’s Daily Mail says that Guardiola is yet to give up hope on signing FC Barcelona shot-stopper, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

The 24-year-old German has had his fair share of games whilst playing for the Catalan club, but hasn’t been able to displace Claudio Bravo as the #1 for the bread and butter of the La Liga matches.

This means that a move away could well be on the mind of Ter Stegen, and a move to the Etihad could be an excellent option for him. He is clearly a superb keeper, and Guardiola does seem to like what Ter Stegen could offer.

If nothing else it would provide Joe Hart with some brilliant competition, forcing the Englishman to work even harder for his place in the team.
