Pellegrini wants to see more of a ‘winning mentality’ despite Crystal Palace victory

West Ham United came from behind to win 3-2 against Crystal Palace today at the London Stadium.

The Irons fought back to make it three straight wins after trailing Palace at the break.

However, Manuel Pellegrini was not entirely happy with their performance today and said that his team need to work on their ‘winning mentality’ for the future.

Pellegrini was also vexed that West Ham had conceded two goals from set-pieces.

“Every game is different, we concede two goals from a set piece today but I hope we will be more concentrated (in the future). We were so bad to start with, it is very difficult to recover but I think we must continue to try.’’ The Chilean coach told his post-match press conference.

“I always say to the player we must have a winning mentality and next we play away to Fulham at the bottom of the league but it is always difficult. We will enjoy today and then tomorrow think about the next game.”

Felipe Anderson scored West Ham’s winner in the 65th minute as the former Lazio player continued his improved form after initially struggling during the early weeks of the season.

Pellegrini spoke about Anderson’s goal and his ability to change a game with a moment of magic.

“It really was a beautiful goal, Felipe (Anderson) can at any moment decide the game.” He added.
