Manuel Pellegrini gave West Ham fans an injury update as The Irons prepare to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

There was disappointing news regarding three players, in particular, as Pellegrini confirmed they would not play any further part this season.

“Andriy Yarmolenko, Winston Reid and Carlos Sanchez will not be back this season,” Pellegrini said in his pre-match press briefing.

“Jack Wilshere, I have some doubts if he will be ready, so we have some players who will not be ready to play before the end of the season.

“We hope that Manu Lanzini will be ready for Fulham (22 February), at least for the bench, if he continues working over the next two weeks, and Fabian Balbuena could be back in a couple of weeks.”

Pellegrini has had to cope with frequent injury concerns since his arrival at West Ham. This has afforded the former Manchester City manager little opportunity to field his str0ngest eleven on a consistent basis.

Thankfully for Pellegrini, it does seem that Marko Arnautovic and Aaron Cresswell should both be fit and available for selection.

It’s touch-and-go with Samir Nasri for this weekend though with the creative midfielder most likely to return for West Ham’s game with Fulham later this month.
