West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini believes his side have played well enough to deserve more points than they have currently amassed so far this season.
After ten games, the Hammers are currently 13th in the Premier League with just two wins and eight points.
However, the Chilean is confident that they are improving and that their position at the halfway point of the season will show a truer reflection on just how West Ham are doing in his first season in charge.
“I think we deserved more points, but we must demonstrate that,” Pellegrini said at Friday’s press conference.
“The best team doesn’t always get the points they deserve.
“I think we are improving and I think that after 19 games we will see if we are in a real position that we deserve.”
West Ham are at home to Burnley this Saturday and will fancy their chances of taking all three points due to the faltering form of Sean Dyche’s team.
Pellegrini believes that Burnley and Dyche won’t be throwing up any surprises when the sides take to the pitch tomorrow.
“They have had the same manager for years and I expect them to continue playing the same way they did last season, with a flat back four and a lot of the same players.
“I have enough things to work out with my team to beat Burnley to worry about what Burnley have to do to beat us!”
