Pedro has clarified his comments over a departure from Chelsea and admits he may still extend his stay following talks with the hierarchy at Stamford Bridge.
The 32-year-old is out-of-contract at the end of the season and appeared to confirm he would be leaving the club this summer, with an interview with the Spanish media being falsely translated that the winger would be โterminatingโ his Chelsea contract.
Pedro has now moved to clarify his comments and has refused to rule out extending his stay in the Premier League, admitting his future remains uncertain but that he still intends to speak to the club regarding a potential new deal.
“As many people know, my contract is up in May,” the winger told Chelsea’s official website.
“But I still haven’t spoken to the club about whether or not it will be renewed and whether I’ll carry on.
“I’ve seen loads of messages from Chelsea fans saying goodbye and thanking me for the time I’ve spent here, which I appreciate, but I’d like to tell all the fans simply that my current contract is coming to an end but I still have to talk to the club.”
