RB Leipzig Head of Recruitment Paul Mitchell has revealed that he will make a decision on his future in the summer.
Born in Denton, Greater Manchester, Mitchell has developed a reputation of being a fine talent spotter during his spells at Southampton, Spurs and now in Leipzig, with the 38-year-old unearthing a number of excellent players including Sadio Mane, Dusan Tadic and Dele Alli to name but a few.
Mitchell still has a year left on his contract with the Bundesliga side, who are keen to keep him at the club and have offered him a five-year contract extension to take him through to 2025.
However, it seems as though he is in no rush to make a decision about a potential return to the English top flight, insisting he will not make a decision until the summer.
“I also heard the rumours. But it is clear; I have a contract in Leipzig until 2020,” he told German publication, Bild.
“I like my job and I am treated very well. There will certainly be a decision in the summer.”
Manchester United are keen to appoint a director of football for the first time in their history as part of a management structure overhaul.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are still looking to replace former technical director Michael Emenalo who left the club back in 2017 while Arsenal are looking for a replacement for Sven Mislintat who left the Emirates in February.
