Ray Parlour has backed Leicester to continue their fine early season form and insists Brendan Rodgers’ side have ‘every chance’ of winning the Premier League this season.
Leicester currently sit second in the division following an impressive start to the campaign, with victory over Arsenal before the international break cementing their position in the Champions League places and giving the club a nine-point advantage over the Gunners in the race for a top-four finish.
Former Arsenal midfielder Parlour has praised the East Midland’s outfit following their start to the campaign and believes the club could achieve more than just a top-four finish by battling the likes of Liverpool and Man City for the title towards the end of the season.
Asked about Leicester’s title hopes, Parlour told talkSport: “Leicester have got every chance.
“It’s amazing. I think they’re going to keep going. I think they can possibly be there or thereabouts in the title race at the end of the year.
“They’ve got no European football so they can rest their players and their squad is very strong. They’ve got good young players who probably aren’t going to pick up loads of injuries.
“If they keep everybody fit… and Jamie Vardy is the key. They haven’t really got a back-up striker, he’s the goalscorer, and if he got injured…
“Youri Tielemans has been excellent, James Maddison is fantastic and they’re solid at the back. They lost Harry Maguire but they’ve replaced him.
“We saw Ben Chillwell play for England against Montenegro and he’s a very good full-back. They’ve got quality all over the pitch.”
Leicester return to Premier League action with a trip to face Brighton at the Amex Stadium this weekend, with the Foxes seeking to win for a fifth consecutive league fixture.
